The
site of the first town meeting of Guilderland ( 1803)
, the house is now on both the State and National Registers
of Historic Places. Those six pillars, solarium
and porches upstairs and down were added about 1910
by Calvin Osborne. In 1983 Laurie and Gerd Beckmann
converted the home as a bed & breakfast and location
for small events and weddings. In 1995 with the
success of the weddings and events - The Gathering Space
, designed by Laurie Beckmann, was built to move the
events out of the historic home and still hold
onto the privacy and atmosphere of country elegance
as well as blend with the historic barns and home
on the picturesque 6 acres complete with stream for
ceremonies, photos & just relaxing.
With
family needs changing the bed & breakfast is now
in two of the spacious second floor bedrooms that were
originally the common sleeping rooms for the tavern.
